Drum head always included in beginner kit but they are very cheap and not so well made. Replacing the head to pro heads such as Aquarian, or Remo. A good drum head will increase the quality of the sound 100% on a cheap drum kit.
Having good tom tom heads and start investing in better cymbals are recommended. By spend a little more on the cymbals and the heads you can really get a lot of good mileage out of a cheap drum.
Overall, the drum kit price range about $300-$500, a decent starter cymbals set about $199, the snare head about $15, and the bass drum head about $20-$30.
Buy a used drum set also necessary to be considered in order to find a great set. An used professional set is a great deals that might you can get, the set will include the good heads and cymbals with relatively low price, sometime $500-$700.
