Lyrics vs. Music

i feel like what makes music good is how it makes you feel.. sometimes thats achieved by lyrics and sometimes its achieved by the music. Just an opinion

well personally i like all music.. but sometimes i like to listen to people like waka flocka flame or gucci mane just because they have beats that make me feel cool when I'm driving lol. Their lyrics are awful, but i still kind of like it. On the other hand lyrics can be really phenomenal, but most people think lyrics are phenomenal when they can relate to them or if it evokes a sort of emotion. Like a ray lamontagne song, like jolene, i love that song because it makes me feel all emotional, which then makes me love the lyrics

Well I like techno. So it's usually about the music. But sometimes there are some really good songs with lyrics. But if I had to pick one. I'd say music.

A song can't have both? Bad lyrics, and bad music show a lack of creativity. The best songs are amazing lyrically and musically.

What is Mozart's Symphony #41 "talking about"? or "La Bamba"? or "Green Onions"? or Miles Davis' "So What"? or most of R.E.M.'s songs? There is a reason this is called "music" Boards and not "Lyrics" Board. Have you ever heard someone say they listened to some lyrics? No, they say they listened to music.

I think its music that makes the song, the first few times I hear something, all i can listen to is the music.

Lyrics help for a catchy hook that stays in your head for weeks though!
