I don't have a big knowledge about classical music. I like piano music like chopin or satie. Who else likes "piano only" clasical music and can recomend some to me?
thx

hi hi. Have you heard Bach? Or there's Debussy as well. They don't really just write for the piano, but i think that their piano pieces are quite nice.If I think of more, I'll reply again.

I like Chopin, his music is so gentle... (BTW - My mother is from Poland)
Chopin is awesome, but Beethoven is great too.
but he and Satie are rare examples of composers who wrote almost exclusively for piano.
Bach wrote keyboard works for organ and/or harpsichord (because piano hadn't been invented yet), but many of them have been performed on piano-especially the preludes and fugues. Keith Jarrett is an interesting piano composer/performer-his background is in jazz, but he has performed numerous concerts of improvised piano compositions that take from classical, jazz and everything else. Rachmaniniff was one of the greatest piano players of all time. His hands were enormous and he could reach more notes at the same time than just about anyone else, so the pieces he wrote are almost impossible for all but the best performers-Check out the 2nd and 3rd piano concertos, and also the preludes in c# minor and g minor. Debussey, Gershwin and Scott Joplin wrote some cool piano music-oh yeah, and Beethoven wrote a few pretty good piano works, too.
