§ 1 Accounts
§ 1.1 Accounts:
Each member of www.musicboards.com may have one and only one account registered to them. Staff members may, with permission with the Head Moderator and/or the Head Admin register a separate account for emergency use or testing purposes only.
§ 1.2 Multiple Accounts Triggers:
The following may be used to alert us to multiple accounts: the same IP address, the same name, same passwords.
§ 2 Spam, Advertisements
§ 2.1 Spam
Spam in any form is completely forbidden and will promptly removed by a moderator or administrator.
§ 2.2.1 Advertisements
Advertisements that do not come through the administrator is to be considered spam and will be promptly removed from the boards.
§ 2.2.2 Approved Advertisements
The only advertisement that will be allowed is through the administrator, in our link exchange program.
§ 3 Signatures
§ 3.1 General Guide Lines
As determined by the administrator, there is a character limit in signatures. This is automatically enforced by the system.
§ 3.2 Advertisements
Advertisements in signatures will be treated as such and removed.
§ 3.3 Links
Links are forbidden in signatures, and thus will be removed by staff members. The only exception to this is links that are approved by the Head Moderator and/or the Head Administrator.
§ 4 Language
§ 4.1 Primary Language
English is the primary language of www.musicboards.com, and members are thus expected to use it while posting on the boards.
§ 4.2 Using “PG-13” Language
As we have younger members on our forums, all language is expected to be “PG-13”. Failure to do so may result in the removal of the material, warnings issued, infraction points given, or a complete ban, depending on the severity and the number of offenses against the user.
§ 4.3 Attacking Other Members
Uncalled for insulting or other wise attacking other members will not be tolerated. The offenders will be promptly punished, using the moderator’s best discretion. This may include but is not limited to, a non-formal warning, a formal warning, up to and including a ban of any length of time.
§ 4.4 Language Continued
The terms of § 4.2, §4.3 apply to all sections of the forums, including the public forums, private messages (PMs), visitor messages, or any other aspect of the forums.
§ 5 Punishments
§ 5.1 Verbal Punishments
If asked to stop whatever it is that you are doing by the staff members of www.musicboards.com, you are expected to do so. This can be considered a warning from the staff member.
§ 5.2 System Warnings/Infraction Points
The vBullentin system allows us to give out infraction points as minour punishments. This makes you aware of the infraction, without having to ban you. Infraction points can be given as a warning, if the staff member so chooses.
§ 5.3 Bans
A ban is our ultimate resort to resolve a conflict. Until proven otherwise, any ban issued by any staff member is considered final.
§ 5.4 Contesting a Ban
If you feel you have been banned unjustly, you may contest the ban by sending an e-mail to altonmodlin@yahoo.com. You may NOT create another account to speak on your behalf. This will be considered having multiple accounts and will thus worsen the situation.
§ 5.5 Speaking on Behalf of a Banned Person
In order to speak on behalf of a banned person, you should send a PM to bassrocks or an e-mail to altonmodlin@yahoo.com. Doing so on the public forum will be considered spam and treated as such.
§ 5.6 Arguing with Staff Members
Never argue with staff members in the public forum. The proper way to handle this would be to send them a PM. If you are debating, that is a different story and is encouraged in the proper threads. However, straight out arguing is not advised.
§ 6 Account Changes
§ 6.1 Password/E-mail Changes
Password and e-mail changes are the user’s responsibility. If you do not know how to do so, contact a staff member via PM and they will help you out. They may also send you a password reset e-mail.
§ 6.2 Changing the Name of the Account
To change the name of your account, you should send a PM to bassrocks or an administrator containing what you’d like the new name to be. Once this has been done, you should receive an e-mail. This change takes effect immediately.
§ 7 Reserved Rights to the Staff
§ 7.1 Reserved Judgement
The staff of www.musicboards.com reserve the right to remove, or edit any material found on the boards that is found to be against the abouve stated rules. Staff will use their best judgment about the material.
§ 7.2 Reserved Information
In any event of attack against www.musicboards.com, the Staff reserve the right to with hold information to users, pending an investigation into the events.
§ 7.3 Reserved Right of Punishment
The staff of www.musicboards.com reserve the right to use any level of punishment we see fit at anytime.
§ 7.4 Reserved Right to Amend
If, we see that the rules outlined here are not working properaly, we reserve the right to change/edit/altar the rules at anytime. Once amended, the new rule takes effect immediately.
§ 7.5
We, the staff of www.musicboards.com, reserve the right to enact the abouve listed rights at anytime, with or without prior warning.
§ 8 Miscellaneous
§ 8.1 User Information
The private information of any user is theirs, and should not be given out except at their disposal. Abuse of another user’s information will result in a ban.
§ 8.2 Avatars/Profile Pictures
Avatars and profile pictures should be also rated PG-13.
§ 8.3 Warning to All Users
Safety is our utmost concern, here at www.musicboards.com. Please, for your own sake, do not give out personal information unless you trust the person.
