Well the global commission on drug policy has submitted a report basically saying that the so called 'war on drugs' does not work, has never worked and will never work. Hundreds of thousands have been criminalised all over the world, tens of thousands have been maimed or killed in drug wars. This is a direct result of the fools that govern, throw billions or trillions of dollars/pounds at a policy that from day one was doomed to failure. Will these idiots listen? No.

either make weed legal, or make alcohol & tobacco illegal.

I think if you make it legal, it will just create more problems and more and more people will abuse it just like alcohol

yeah, but you cant really "abuse" weed. you cant overdose on it, and while the govt has said that it is a gateway drug, is really isnt. the only possible problems of legalizing weed would be people fighting over prices or something like that.

yea, i do not think marijuana is that harmful, however if it is legal dont you think more and more people will smoke it and try it because it is "legal". Might create some problems down the road, however I am all for it

Actually no, in countries where they have more liberal attitudes such as the Netherlands usage amongst the Dutch has gone down. There is only one problem with any illegal drug and that is the fact that they are illegal. Simply because their usage is against the law does not stop anyone from using them, all it does is criminalise people and creates countless problems in society, how many people are in prison in the US at tax payers expense for drug related offences? What good is it doing society wasting money on a policy that has no chance whatsoever of succeeding?

You cant really "abuse" weed, you can however use it so much that you grow a tolerance, and that is often why people go on to harder drugs.

Plus, I think one of the only reasons why they are keeping it illegal is because they make money every time they catch someone with it. But if they taxed it, they could make more money, so I think they have no good reason why not to legalize it.
