Hi,
I want to put together a playlist of relaxing classical music to play when I'm falling asleep. What would you guys suggest?
There are a number of collections of classical Adagios-these are typically soothing, calming music. I also like the soundtrack to Out of Africa, which is predominantly beautiful music for string orchestra, and my favorite all-time composition-Requiem by Gabriel Faure, which creates an invitingly glorious image of heavenly bliss in the hereafter (though I think even an atheist could appreciate the beauty of the music).
My favourite is the slow part of the Ravel's piano concerto in G. Listen to the introduction part on piano solo with so specific dissonances, and the orchestra entering later on the high flute !
Once more Maurice Ravel enchants us with this splendid page !![]()
I've been a particular fan of his string quartet, and I was a fan of Bolero before it was used in the movie "10".
but I prefer the cello suites
