    I'll give it a try

Weather Report - Heavy Weather is maybe their best album
John Coltrane - almost anything by him is great
Herbie Hancock and Joseph Zawinul both worked with Miles and are pretty great.
    Wayne Shorter
    Thelonius Monk
    Wynton Marsalis

you know, since Miles had such a long and varied career, it's hard to know what to recommend unless I know which Miles is your fave. Some of his later albums don't bear any resemblence to his Bitches Brew era, which don't sound like Kind of Blues, which doesnt sound like his Gil Evans stuff, which is not like his early material either.

the only musician on your list that wasn't under the wing of Miles at one time in their career is Wynton Marsalis.

I don't think Monk was either. I wasn't going for stylistic similarity so much in their cases, but more stature/reputation and composing ability combined with band-leading excellence. I probably should have added Charles Mingus, too.

Monk is all over Miles' bebop sessions, on Round Midnight.
