Beer-Pong related to spread of Herpes Simplex.

I heard some people at a pub saying that Herpes Simplex has been spread by the popular game of beer-pong. The mere thought that Herpes was transmitted through the game made me skeptical. I didn't believe it, and when I said so, these guys straight up attacked my standpoint and tried to belittle me for not believing something that was COMMON KNOWLEDGE.

I went home and researched it, and found that the story was posted somewhere and the story spread like wild fire. It got so big that the Center for Disease Control actually issued a press release/statement saying that this was a hoax. I don't know the dudes from that bar so I can't go back and shove their stupidity in their faces.

Have any of you heard about this Beer-Pong/Herpes Simplex connection?
