I completely know what it is you are talking about here. You just have to look underground. You have to really search in the least likely places and especially on websites like youtube, but if you really try there are hundreds maybe even thousands of artists out there who have retained to that dirty, struggle, and street 90s flow you are referring to you just have to look.

Well for starters, a lot of those violent cities in the 90's where a lot of old rappers came from aren't like that anymore. NY and LA have some of the lowest murder rates in the country now. Now, cities like New Orleans, Baltimore, Detroit, St Louis are of course still like that but how often do u hear of rappers from those places? For a rapper to come from NY and be talkin that shoot em stuff would be fake. Not sayin there arent areas in NY that are tough but not to the extent of those other cities. Not at all..
