I know if you are reading this then you are saying of course first and foremost its all about the music. I totally agree it is, but should'nt we have the money as well. I did another post about country not being country anymore. But I guess the same can be said about rock and other music. It's just made to make money from teeny boppers who have no clue. It seems to me it is no fair. I will never change my way of thought and never have just do to having money. And believe me I could use it. Hey let me know what you think?
God Bless,

I understand this might not be something that everyone cares about or wants to know so bear with me here but, there is something i would greatly like to address here that involves the factor of The music>The money. These days anytime you respond to a question with "I listen to hip hop" you get this usual thing where the person who you've responded to instantly thinks the exact opposite of what you mean. What i am saying is the downgrade of hip hop music with all these new "rappers" now a days. These people i hear like waka flocka or wiz khalifa are not part of what i consider hip hop. Real hip hop is deep down lyrics with a true meaning, an artist showing their raw ideas with a rhythmic flow, enticing gritty beats, and a true form of art just like any other genre of music. Hip Hop started because instruments were not affordable to some so they just took old records and played them over and over creating beats almost something from nothing. Anymore it has just become a way to get famous and rich quick with garbage lyrics that anyone could follow. There are many Emcees out their today who sacrifice the chance at money and fame to give a true message and make REAL music. Artists and groups like Aesop Rock, Dose one, Atmosphere, Jurassic 5, sweatshop union and many more. I guess what i am trying to say is an artist should never let money stop them from creating true music or use music as a worthless tool to gain what they need and leave it at that, regardless of what genre they fall under. And when many artists from one genre of music start to follow this idea of money over the music it can easily ruining the mainstream reputation of that entire genre. That is really all i had to say, but if you have made this far by now thank you very much for taking the time to read my message.
It isn't fair anymore. Should be about the music..
kid i agree with you...its a shame but money makes the world go around
thats so true
Socrates believed that there shouldn't be professional philosophers. Philosophy is the love (philo in Greek) of wisdom (sophia in Greek), and a professional "lover" is a prostitute-who only pretends to love for money. This is part of the background to the Olympic games former focus on amateur (from amo in Greek-another word for love) athletic competition-athletics for the love of athletics-not for money. So money tends to ruin any endevour by diluting the true love for the false love of prostitute athletes, prostitute musicians, or whatever. This encourages me to support indie artists, more-though I do keep buying Beatles albums, so I'm still working on getting it right.
wow, very deep!!! unfortunately this is how our society works. without money maybe you werent be hearing most of this music?
I'm not anti-money-I think musicians deserve a decent wage, but the idol worship and big money (and usually crooked business dealings) that accompanies the top entertainers is out of sync with their benefit to society. Why should Britney or Gaga make more than a teacher or a social worker? I don't think many people like music more than me (and there are other arenas just as egregious-Professional Sports, Big Pharma, Banking), but the overvaluation of amusements (from the Greek - means WITHOUT THOUGHT), and undervaluation of education and the other things that are required for a society to succeed, is part of what is bankrupting our world.
good point music!
You are right!!
